I was born and raised in Asia, Thailand, where I could everyday wake up and walk down on my streets getting fresh made and delicious food. Part of growing up in a foodie family made me inspired and passionate about food. Started with my dad who always loves trying new restaurants. He has a very good palate and knows good food as well as my mom always loves spending her time in the kitchen and never failed to make something delicious for the family, except for one time I remembered when she tried to bake a cake out of the pan instead of using the oven. I called it not the cake, it was an extra thick pancake. I am pretty sure she did not mean to make pancakes for us 🤭. Although now it is the trend, people try to make super thick fluffy pancakes 😄. Pretty sure back then was not the same case. Through many years I have absorbed learning and helping her in the kitchen even though she never let me handle the real cooking as she could not really trust me when I was around 5th-6th grade at that time. With a little bit of everyday keep learning as my mom sous chef, I was very much enjoyed and loved doing it. Everyday I always peaked my face around and volunteered to help after school. Furthermore my dad who sometimes would wake me and my brother up in the middle of the night and drove to Chinatown to get something to eat. It was definitely a fun experience that I will never forget. Who will wake me up at 3:00 am and tell me let’s go eat? Of course, it has only been my dad who would do that. Those experiences during my childhood were fun although the real cooking did not begin until I moved to the United States after my college. I secretly knew that I wanted to go to Le Cordon Bleu. I went and applied for it but I was also an international student so I could not qualify for the student loan since my parents decided to not support me if I chose to go to culinary school instead of some top MBA program or graduate degree. My hope was down and I ended up not attending the cooking school as I wished. With my relentless passion I continued to pursue my own dream by keeping learning and cooking on my own. I would read several cookbooks when back then smartphones were not invented. What I also learned was that I could still have so much fun even in my own kitchen as a hobby. I started to cook everyday as my hobby and very interested in watching the show and tips from the cooking channel. I then started to collect so many cookbooks. Read about the tips and techniques. I had some favorite chefs and celebrities that I followed and would not mind standing in the line getting the cookbook signed. I would go out to restaurants and try to make the same dishes at home. I found myself that I was always happy to be in the kitchen cooking and always excited about my final products. After decades of spending time in learning as a hobby, I ended up challenging myself everyday and developing more techniques and skills. My dream never actually stopped. Today I have followed and continued my dream and hope to create something that helps inspiring you to continue to believe in yourself and do not stop to follow your dreams and make it become real.
